Nia
Nia with Jen and Jena

Your Body is Sacred, Amazing, and Divine.
Sense it. Feel it. Move it. Listen to it. Celebrate it.
Through Movement, We Transform.

Nia is a workout, movement practice, lifestyle and personal growth program. More than a physical fitness program, Nia is a way to condition, heal and transform your body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Nia is a system that blends movements, concepts and philosophy derived from Martial Arts (Tai Chi, Aikido, Tae Kwon Do), Dance Arts (Modern, Jazz, Duncan), and Healing Arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique).

The philosophy of Nia is based on "The Joy of Movement" and rooted in the pleasure principle: If it feels good, keep doing it; if it hurts, stop and adapt what you do to feel better.

Moving To Heal

Moving to Heal: Move to feel better!

Moving to Heal is a gentler Nia class designed to help direct your body’s resources toward self healing and feeling better. This beautiful class format is designed for people seeking ways to feel better during illness, injury, or in times of tenderness and unease. Enjoy easy to follow choreography in a supportive atmosphere.

I offer customized private Moving to Heal Nia sessions for people who are pregnant or post-partum of those with back pain, neck pain, chronic fatigue, persistent pain, autoimmune issues, sports injuries, and orthopedic issues.

Nia is practiced barefoot and is adaptable to people of all shapes and sizes. See www.NiaNow.com for more information about Nia.
See www.NiaSeattle.com about Nia classes in Seattle.

Move and your body will thank you.
Move and your emotions will thank you.
Move and your mind will thank you.
Move and your spirit will thank you.
